Fans Encouraged to Arrive Earlier Than Usual or Use SEPTA When Attending One of Three Events on Saturday (June 14)

Fans attending any of the three events at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex on Saturday, June 14, are encouraged to arrive much earlier than planned or to take SEPTA to and from the Complex to alleviate potential traffic congestion in the area.

“We really want to encourage our guests to consider arriving much earlier than usual or to consider taking SEPTA to the Sports Complex on Saturday to help alleviate any potential traffic congestion,” said Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko. “There will be enough parking to accommodate everyone.”

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will perform at Citizens Bank Park at 7:30 p.m. Tailgating parking lots will open at 12 p.m. with other lots opening as early as 3 p.m. Gates to Citizens Bank Park will open at 6 p.m. G Love and Special Sauce will perform at 7:30 p.m. with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band expected to take the stage at 8:30 p.m. The event is sold out.

Rush will perform at the Wachovia Center at 7:30 p.m. Doors to the Wachovia Center will open at 6:30 p.m. Rush will perform two sets with the first beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available at ComcastTIX.com or by calling 1-800-298-4200.

The Philadelphia Soul will host “Fan Appreciation Night” when they meet the Cleveland Gladiators in an Arena Football League contest beginning at 7 p.m. Doors to the Wachovia Spectrum will open at 6 p.m. Tickets are still available at ComcastTIX.com or by calling 1-800-298-4200.

The SEPTA Broad Street Line will begin special express trains from Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:35 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. The Broad Street line express trains will stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations, en route to Pattison Station. The express trip from City Hall takes only about eight minutes. Local trains take only 11 minutes to travel to the sports complex from City Hall. After the events local and express trains will be standing by to provide northbound service back to Fern Rock.
